Between your body and mine

Birthed from an Ocean of Tears

A small shell, curled around its fears
washed upon an unknown shore
birthed from an ocean of tears.

Darkened sea swallows what existed before
broken bones and sand form a small shell
washed upon an unknown shore.

Hardened outer layer, protects well
a gentle heart tossed by violent tides
broken bones and sand form a small shell.

Shelter a gentle hand provides
carried from unknown shore, to new home
a gentle heart tossed by violent tides.

No longer alone
a small shell, curled around its fears
carried from unknown shore, to new home
birthed from an ocean of tears.
